POWERING WWE’S PRESENCE WITH A 73-FOOT CUSTOM LED LOGO

At the WWE World Headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut, a unique challenge arose to create a striking visual presence that embodied the brand’s global impact. The solution was to design, engineer, and install a 73-foot tall LED logo that would serve as the centerpiece of the building’s lobby. This massive installation not only needed to reflect the power and presence of WWE but also required a level of technical precision to ensure its integrity and seamless integration into the space. The result was a true custom LED logo, one of the largest of its kind in North America, built using over 1,700 unique PCB boards.

The primary challenge was to create a logo that remained true to WWE’s iconic brand without altering its original design. The LED boards had to fit seamlessly, with no bezels around the edges, while also ensuring that the logo could be safely suspended above visitors’ heads. The sheer scale of the installation—over 20,000 pounds of weight—necessitated a careful combination of mounting methods to ensure the logo remained secure. This solution required close collaboration between multiple teams and an in-depth understanding of both structural integrity and electrical engineering.

Our approach began with a 3D laser scan of the lobby to ensure precision in design and alignment, allowing us to address potential challenges before arriving on-site. With a combination of three months of electrical engineering and meticulous planning, we developed a bespoke PCB “puzzle” to form the logo, ensuring the final product adhered to WWE’s strict branding guidelines. Importantly, this was done without the need for any bezel masking, preserving the clean, modern look of the logo while maintaining the brand’s visual integrity.

The final installation was a masterful blend of design, engineering, and collaboration, resulting in a breathtaking display that perfectly captured WWE’s larger-than-life presence. The integration of custom LEDs elevated the experience, turning a simple logo into a true visual spectacle. With careful planning, coordination with structural engineers, and attention to detail, the WWE logo now stands as a monumental piece of art, symbolizing the strength and global appeal of WWE in its new headquarters.
